With today’s busy life people often forget what it’s like to be stranded on the side of the road or in the middle of nowhere due to either a flat tire, dead battery, at least these are the thing that we as a car owner can take care of ourselves if something were to happen. Here I will talk about five things that are really helpful, and I thing are a must in every car.
1. Tire Inflator
I was debating on which item to put in first place, tire fix kit or inflator and I think tire inflator is the number one item to have in your car since you can always keep inflating a tire to be able to get to the repair shop. I strongly suggest to invest in a good quality small tire inflator and leave it in the car.
* A small tip, make sure to have a pair of pliers in the car as well, to take out a screw or a nail.
2.Flat Tire Kit
Keeping a tire repair kit in your trunk is always a great idea, you never know when it will come in handy, and you will be very happy when you need it, it’s priceless if you go on a trip and then come back to the car to find out that you have a flat tire. It is very easy to fix it if you have the right tools. Please make sure to watch a you tube video on how to properly repair a flat tire on your own, and at your own risk.
* A small tip, make sure to have a pair of pliers in the car as well, to take out a screw or a nail, the kit that I have linked herein does have them and more ๐, check it out.
3. Jumper Cables
or a Battery Jump Starter
I cannot stress it enough how much just a simple jumper cable is a necessity for any car owner, and some people have them, but keep them in the garage, I say they should always stay in the car, just put it in the trunk and forget about it, it will save you a lot of headache one day.
Another great way of jump starting a car is a battery pack that works really great, it’s even better than the jumper cables as you don’t need to ask anyone for help.
* CAUTION – Do not leave a battery pack inside the car when as it gets hot or cold and the battery may be damaged or cause fire, so best way is to leave the cables for it in the trunk, and take the battery with you when going on a trip.
4. First Aid Kit
It is not a good feeling when you injure yourself and not having anything to help yourself or others with medical needs. A small first aid kit is a small investment but you will thank yourself when you or someone else will need it.
5. Bungee Cords
I can’t tell you how many times my wife and I went to IKEA and come to realize we did not have anything to tie the long stuff that hangs out of the trunk with, and don’t think of keeping them in the garage, because you will not remember to take them with you when you go ๐, plus, there are so many unplanned trips that you will be thankful you have these in your car.
