Every baby is different, some have more sensitive skin then others, and here is my experience with our diapers journey. I do not want to tell you which diapers to buy or chose one over the other, but rather give you my take and experience on it and maybe it will help you.
When my husband and I became parents we didn’t know about diapers or anything that comes with choosing them, the size or a brand. So let me tell you how we came to ones we are using now, and our little girl loves them.
When we were in the hospital they supplied with the ones that they give to everyone else, with same brand, and they had a pleasant scent to them, and let me tell you, the little one did not like them at all, first of all they were scented, and as the time was going the baby started to have red skin here and there, nothing major, but the redness would be there going back and forth and doctors were always telling us it’s nothing serious and it will go away as she adopts to the world, but then we decided to try different diapers brand and sure enough that did make a difference.
After a couple of weeks we started reading about it and came to the conclusion that it could be the diapers that we need to change, so we did, we bought Huggies and the situation changed for the better. Redness slowly started to disappear, and she seemed to like them so much more over Papers. But there were still rashes here and there, but after a while it was gone for good.
Day Diapers
We researched a little more, and that’s when we found these wonderful, feather like feel of diapers, we decided to give her one size up as well, to make it more breathable. That’s when things started to get much better and there would be no redness on legs or anywhere for that matter. The material is so soft and comfortable to the touch that I can be confident that my baby is as comfortable as I can make her, we did see that she like then more. They are Millie Moon, they are a little more expensive than the others, but they are really worth it, I am getting them at Target.
Night Diapers
It wasn’t until later in the learning process that we discovered that there are night time diapers, yes, night time diapers! It was when our little one started sleeping through the night and in the morning we noticed that there are wet spots in the crib, and that’s when I looked it up, and as it turns out, when the baby starts sleeping through the night and you don’t change diapers in the middle of the night, it will in fact overflow, that’s when we found overnight diapers and that put an end to the night overflow ๐ Try them out, I promise you will be very happy you bought them, there is nothing worse than sleeping in the wet pajamas, so think about your little angels ๐.
