It’s really hard to figure out what you need when you are just starting to introduce hard food, so let me give you my experience on what I have and how it is helping me with feeding my little one, it’s not just utensils and plates, there is a whole science behind it, ha-ha ๐
1. High Chair
There are so many different choices out there, but I got this high chair and I love it! It is super easy to take apart and clean, which is really important because you will need to do it a lot :). The straps are also detachable and can be thrown into the washing machine to be washed, I highly recommend this one, but keep in mind that the table top is not round, so round plates that have suction things at the bottom do not stick to the table as good because it’s not round, something to keep in mind.
2. Bibs
1. Everyday Bibs
I love these bibs because they are really easy to put on and take off, and easy to clean, plus the flap never closes like some other thin and floppy so the food is alway caught in it.
2. Travel Bibs
I recommend these bibs for travel for a very good reason, they are light and thin, so you can pack them real easy and always have with you one the go anywhere, I always have one in my diaper bag.
3. Plates
There are so many plates to choose from, and I really like this one due to fact that it has these dividers and my little one for some reason really likes to have the food divided like that.
Once my little one reached 15 months I bought these porcelain plates with silicone sleeve, and let me tell you I love them!
Yes, you have to know when to introduce porcelain plates, and for me it was when my daughter kinda stopped flipping over the silicone ones.
It’s really hard to figure out what you need when you are just starting to introduce hard food, so let me give you my experience on what I have and how it is helping me with feeding my little one, it’s not just utensils and plates, there is a whole science behind it, ha-ha :)These are great for two simple reasons, the first one and the most important, your baby will be eating from porcelain instead of silicone, in my opinion its much healthier, and the second is the cleaning process, these are safe to put into the dishwasher and you’re done, I can’t tell you how much time it saves on washing the dishes, you have to try it!
4. Utensils
I really like these spoons and forks, and my little one loves to eat with them, they are not too small and not too big, they’re dishwasher safe, and they come in a pack of 3 so you always have enough for a meal time.
One of the best things about these utensils is that they have this raised border that will prevent the spoon or a fork to touch a surface, so if you need to put it on a table the metal part will always stay away from the surface.
5. Cups
1. Weighted Cup
These weighted cups are great when you are just starting to introduce drinking from a cup, it is made of silicone so it’s easy to clean, and it’s just the right size for your little one to grip it, I highly recommend this one as a starter.
2. Munchkin Miracle 360
These Munchkins Miracle 360 cups are amazing, my sister bought them for her son a few years back, and when my daughter started eating and drinking I placed an order right away.
They are super easy to clean, not too many parts and my daughter was having so much time drinking from them, plus it doesn’t spill when put on it’s side, I love these and will recommend then anytime.
3. Munchkin Straw Cup
Same with these Munchkin straw cup, they are made to close up so these are great for taking them with you on the go, it acts like a thermos so it holds a temperature when you need it to be warm for a while, and they are spill proof as well. Love them!
6. High Chair for Grandma House
I haven’t used any other hight chairs like this one that goes on a regular chair, but this one was recommended to my mother in law by her friend so she bought it for when we come over, and let me tell you it is super comfortable.
The table top is so easily removable and it can be stored in the slot below as you can see, when the baby is ready to be strapped and eat at the table. It’s has super easy and positive straps to secure to a chair and straps for the baby is also well thought of.
Also, the blue part where the baby seats is soft rubber and really comfortable and is not cold to the touch, so you don’t have to worry about putting anything soft on it. If you are us and like to go to your parents a lot with your baby, trust me, you will love this one, and it’s not that expensive.
